Born and raised in Connecticut, Lisa studied painting and printmaking at the Art Institute of Boston and at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She has been showing her work in group exhibitions and solo shows since 1984 in the US, Canada, France, Greece, and India.
Lisa’s subject matter has a large range, from landscapes to still lifes and studies of people, to intimate observations of everyday objects. She seeks to simplify her images and in so doing brings forth a quiet sense of being. Whether in painting or printmaking, Lisa is inclined to focus on her subject and compose it down to a harmonious minimum. Drawing is fundamental to all aspects of her work.
After 27 years of living and working in different places, mostly abroad, Lisa and her family now call Jamestown, Rhode Island their permanent home. It is there that she and her husband have built her dream studio where she works full time.
Originaire du Connecticut, Lisa a étudié la peinture et la gravure à l’Institut d’Art de Boston et à l’Ecole du Musée des Beaux Arts, Boston. Depuis 1984, elle a exposé seule et en groupe aux Etats Unis, au Canada, en France, en Grèce et en Inde.
Les sujets d’étude de Lisa sont très variés, allant des paysages aux natures mortes et aux etudes de personages jusqu’à une vision intimiste des objets quotidiens. Dans son travail, elle recherche la simplicité et nous fait pénétrer dans un monde paisible. Que ce soit en peinture ou en gravure, elle se focalise sur son sujet dans un minimalisme harmonieux. Le dessin est au coeur de son travail.
Après avoir vécu et travaillė pendant 27 ans dans divers endroits, principalement à l’étranger, Lisa et sa famille considèrent désormais Jamestown, Rhode Island comme leur foyer permanente. C’est là qu’elle et son mari ont construit son studio de rêve où elle travaille à plein temps.
